About us
The Word and Sound Learning Lab is a research team that studies why some children learn words and sounds so easily while others struggle. We want to help parents and professionals successfully teach words and sounds to children. Knowing words and sounds helps children succeed in school and life. We are part of the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing: Sciences and Disorders and the Life Span Institute at the University of Kansas.
